Green beans with onions and slivered almonds are the perfect match to any entrée. The nutty flavor of almonds mixed with the freshness of green beans is such a great combination.
Ingredients:
- 16 oz French green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 shallot, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¼ cup slivered almonds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and blanch green beans for 4 minutes. Remove from water and cool.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add almonds and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add shallots and garlic and sauté an additional 2 minutes.
- Using tongs transfer green beans directly into the skillet and toss to coat with almond mixture. Salt and pepper to taste.
